Gardenia by Wm Rogers & Son IS / International was created in 1941 and subsequently discontinued. The gardenias running down the center combined with simplistic lines keeps this as a popular vintage pattern. This vintage silverware was originally marketed just at the start of World War II. Other popular silverplate flatware patterns by Wm Rogers & Sons also include Mayfair, Orange Blossom and Victorian Rose. The IS stands for International Silver.
Wm Rogers & Son was initially founded in Hartford Connecticut in 1856 to 1861 and reestablished from 1869 to 1873. The firm eventually became part of International Silver in 1898.
