Lovely Lady was introduced in 1937 by Holmes & Edwards and was discontinued in 1959. This pre-war pattern flows from flowers at the top to the pierced handle making an interesting and still popular look. You are sure to get compliments with this pattern.
Holmes & Edwards was organized in Bridgeport CT in 1882 and taken over by International Silver in 1898. That part of Connecticut and Southern New England housed some of the best manufacturers and artisans of silver in the country in the early twentieth century. I had the honor of driving by some of those former locations on a weekly basis and often saw some marvelous examples of sterling and silverplate.
