Welcome to White Water Antiques May 2019 newsletter

A special welcome if you are joining us for the first time. Our aim is to educate, entertain, and just have fun with sterling and silver-plate flatware, gifts, and unusual silver works of art.

This next week I will be in Brimfield at May’s Antique Market. For me it is a great time to sell, buy, and rejoin my son Ben who sells vintage lighting. Take your immediate left at the main gate and we are about 6 or 7 dealers down on the right. Look for the guy with the big mustache.

If you have never been to Brimfield, it is one of those couple hundred things to do before you die. A flea market/antique show with thousands of dealers scattered on both sides of the road for about a mile. Dress for a variety of weather conditions and bring comfortable shoes.

There are lots of silver dealers there as well as a truly diverse selection of everything else. Even if you spend nothing, the show is a great place to get ideas and information. We will update you after the show on what we found and what we experienced. Never be afraid to ask questions. There are no stupid questions.

We do the May and September show but miss the July show. Each one is unique, but the May show is the biggest by far.

Remember that silver and any antiques are meant to be used, not hidden away. In upcoming newsletters, we will suggest silver items that have unique uses and how they can be used in modern dining. Thanks for stopping by today.
